RobinHood
What about dumb villagers (not like in MC) and underground machines (with horrible drum sounds) like in this Movie-Clip, "Time Machine" from 1960. Windego
An interesting concept. I think there is a suggestion about villages somewhere on this forum already.
Maelstrom
@RobinHoodYou do realize the dumb villagers in your clip were essentially cattle?
Ryan Thomas
No Eloi were actually harmed in the making of this film Thank you for the clip, RobinHood, my gemology group was just talking about The Time Machine the other day. We... don't always have a ton of stuff to talk about. There's only so much one can say about minerals sometimes.
Ryan Thomas
What purpose would you like for the dumb villagers that you're suggesting? Do you want them just like milling around? Or maybe a food source for the Drifters, as the Eloi were for the Morlocks? Or would you like the player to be able to turn them into a food source? Windego
To keep things simplistic for a start of this idea... What about using what's already in the game by default and expanding on it little by little? We already have trader settlements or 'camps' where there are at least two traders. Take that and add let's say... 5 more or so? With enough traders, wagons and other miscellaneous blocks/structures added to it, we'll have ourselves a functional village. Though considering how VS's traders of today re portrayed, I wouldn't be surprised their villages would look much more like a gypsy settlement. Horses, sheep and/or pigs in a fenced area. Trading carts here and there to accompany the horse count. A tent here and there.... Maybe a stick and straw hut?
